John & Susanna Hall & their sons in the early (before 1850) census.

John Hall, was over 16 was in the 1790 Burke Co, NC census and over 45 in the 1820 Dickson Co, TN census. Susanna Hall, age 50 to 60, was in the 1830 Dickson Co, TN census and age 70 to 80 in the 1840 Sumter Co, AL census. These son were grouped together, Berriman, age 20 to 30; David, age 20 to 30; Joshua, age 20 to 30 & Joseph, age 30 to 40 in the 1830 Greene Co, AL census, next to each other. These sons were close together, Westley, age 20 to 30; Joshua, age 30 to 40; David, age 30 to 40 & Berry(Berriman), age 30 to 40 all near Susanna,in the 1840 Sumter Co, AL census. Son Joseph W. was in the 1830 throught 1860 census in Greene Co, AL. Joseph married in 1819 and I have not found him in any 1820 census. I believe son John, age 26 to 45, was in the 1820 Dickson Co, TN census. Unsure about 1830 and age 30 to 40 in the 1840 Greene Co, AL census (too many Johns.) I haven't been able to find Jesse yet. David was in Lauderdale Co. MS by 1840. He probably died around 1855. He is poorly documented, to my knowledge.I will post a summary of what I know, along with some conjecture.

Toxey,
There is a David Hall in the 1840 Lauderdale Co, MS census but there is also a David Hall in the 1840 Sumter Co, AL census near Susannah Hall, Joshua Hall and Berry (Berryman) Hall.
I've checked AL, MS, AR and TX with no luck.

There is no doubt that David was in Lauderdale County, thquestion is when he got there. His tracks are all over the place. I am in the middle of a memo summarizing all that I have been able to find out about him. I hope to post it within a few days
