This File is based on research by David E.R. Gay. He gives a single source for all information contained in the file.

“Most of this is from a poor photocopy transcribed by Emma Louise Ryan (Gay), data from family bible held by Mrs. F.C. Ricks, Meridian, MS circa 1973. More data are included but illegible. Mrs Ricks
(Elisabeth Hall), dau of Dorsey Hall, 1st cousin of Toxey Watts Hall.
Aug13, 1979 letter from Toxey Watts Hall of Canton, MS
ref to John William Hall's 1898 written hist. (Waco, TX)
Mrs Ricks ( Elisabeth Hall), dau of Dorsey Hall, 1st cousin of Toxey Watts Hall”

All of the people mentioned in the source reference are deceased, and the location or survival of the documents is unknown. For a couple of years, I have sporadically attempted to follow up on what could be some very valuable sources here, but the trail is cold.

Note, that a daughter, Susannah married. David Berryman, who may have been the prototype for several Halls with given name Berryman or Berriman. Also, some histories (e.g. James Petty Hall) list a daughter Susan, who married a man named Quarles and removed to Arkansas.

Are this Susan and Susanna two daughters, or one woman who moved twice? Somebody jump in and help!
