Problems getting on the site. Unless I am "submitting" information, I can't seem to sign on EVEN WITH my password. If I'm submitting, I can just click on my user name. I've just returned from a three day trip to Oconee Co., Pickens Co., & Anderson Co., SC in search of a lead as to who the father of Jeremiah BURTON could be. I located a John BURTON buying and selling land on Chauga & Crooked Creek - 1831 & 1832. In 1831, John was buying land from Uriah W. RUSSELL. (Could he be related to my Elisha RUSSELL b: abt 1780 SC?). In 1832, John is selling the same land to John CALHOUN. John T. HUMPHREYS and Jane HUMPREYS witness the first deed. Can anyone tell me if "Jane" is a BURTON? Does anyone on this site have any idea who this John might be? I also found estate papers for "Lavinder" BURTON who I believe to really be a "Leander" BURTON, dated 1845 (Anderson Co., SC?). Well, I can't find the stack of copies I made while in the Anderson Co. library. There were no children named; however, Margaret SIMS was on one of the documents & may be one of his children.
