A 5th Great Grand daughter of John Hall Esq. died from exposure after waliking away from her home in Haywood County, NC . She wandered into Barbers Orchard in the Saunook community not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Willa Mae was an avid advocate for thr completion of the North Shore Road in Swain County. Her home in the national park was near the Bone Valley and Hall Cemeteries and she was raised untill the removal on Desolation Branch in far northern section of what is now the Great Smoky Mountains NP. For several years she didicated her time to the pulication of the newsletter ogf the North Shore and her knowlwedge of our Hall cousins was eagerly shared by Willa Mae. She longed for the day when all former residents and their children and grandchildren would not have to cross Fontana to visit "Home". But alas the road will never be.
