Thanks for posting these! I am printing them out and planning to read them over and over. The script is sometimes difficult for us to read ...but I wish my handwriting looked as good at times. Thanks again!

Debbie,
This document is very important in a lot of ways.
I had a date of abt 1774 for John's son David from the 1790 census but since he's not listed in this will, his date of birth has to be after 26 Sep 1778.
I had no DOB for John's daughters Diana and Elizabeth, now have before 26 Sep 1778.
But most important is that this will proves Micajah who moved to KY was a son and that Elizabeth was the wife of John during this time.

As a descendent of John Hall's son Micajah Hall, I was thrilled to see this will. As Donald Godfrey pointed out, the will includes Micajah Hall, proving Micajah was John's son. A later John Hall will signed November 17, 1808 lists all John Hall's living children but not Micajah. We now know Micajah was indeed John's son, but we do not know why he was left out of the 1808 will.

Hi Phil, Can you tell me where in Kentucky Micajah lived? In one of the 9 letters John Hall states he needed to go to Kentucky to have his land surveyed. I would like to track down any land deeds if possible. Thanks much.

Debbie, Thanks for the wonderful will and letters you put on the family site. I have just now gotten to read them and was much impressed that you were able to find them. You inspired me to put the wedding page of John and Elizabeth on the site. Thanks again. It was a truly great find. Linda
