David Hall married to Flavilla Jackson.

Donald Godfrey - Aug 13, 2005

It appears that David Hall's wife Flavilla Jackson was a d/o Isacc Jackson and Miriam Pugh and Miriam Pugh was a sister of Alvira Pugh, wife of Joseph White Hall. Miriam and Alvira, children of Elijah and Ruth Julian Pugh. Of course, David Hall and Joseph White Hall were brothers, children of John and Susanna White Hall. They lived in Clarke and Greene Cos, AL. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Don

Looking at the message boards and files on ancestry.com on Elijah Pugh's family, I found this information.
I should have checked Toxey's file in the "File Cabinet" before posting this. He has the same information.
O'well I guess it doesn't hurt to verify information.

Toxey Hall - Aug 15, 2005

Don: It's nice to have verification. I was working on an attempt to document possible connections between David and the elusive Wesly W. Hall, whom I believe may be a son of David and therefore a nephew of my ancestor Wesley W. Hall (1819-1886). Then I got on my Burke County tangent after my visit in May. Last month, I installed a new hard drive, reinstalled my operating system, and in the process, through a remarkable exercise of stupidity, lost almost everything I have done in the past 18 mo. The Squire John Site, is now the principal repository of my own recent work. I have a lot of downloading to do when I am sure I have a stable system. By the way, If I sent you my Trip report for the May visit to Burke & you still have it, please send me a cy. That stuff you hear about backing up is quite true.

Toxey,
You are right about Wesley W. Hall.
I just got an email from Betty Kenney whoes grandmother was Susan Flavelia Hall, a daughter of Wesley and his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Saul.
She said Wesley was 8 years old when both his parent died from TB?
She going to send additional information on her family and I will invite her to our website.
Don.

Wow! you had me going for a minute. If you are referring to Betty's posting of 20 Aug 2005, What she is saying is that her grandparents Susan Flavalia Hall and Augustus EdwardHusband(s) died of TB in 1902, when Betty’s father Julian Husband (not Wesly)was 7years old.

I just read in a report by Suzie Lee, that David Hall m. Lucinda. She does not mention Flavalia. Presumably Lucinda was a first wife and presumably the free white female in the 1830 Green, Al census and the 1840 Sumter, AL and/or 1840 Lauderdale, MS. Census. Both women are too old to be Flavalia, who would have been born abt 1814. I think this first wife (Lucinda?) is the likely mother of Wesly. Wesly would be one of the three children under ten in the 1840 Census.

Betty Kenney - Aug 20, 2005
David Hall and Flavilla Jackson Hall were the parents of my great grandfather, Wesley W. Hall. Wesley W. Hall married my great grandmother in Lauderdale Co., MS on Jan. 20, 1856. He was President of The Board of Police at that time and therefore married them himself. They only had one child, my grandmother, Susan Flavelia Hall in December of 1856. Apprently Wesley died between this time and 1860 census, since he does not appear with his wife and daughter. Margaret and Susan Flavelia are in the home of Margaret's father, Richard Saul. Susan Flavelia Hall married my grandfather, Augustus Edward Husband(s) in Copiah Co., Ms on July 17, 1872. The couple had 7 children: James Edward Husband-1875, Annie Laurie Husband-1880, Margaret Husband-1883, William Fred Husband-1886, Walter H. Husband-1891, Julian Oscar Husband-1895 (my father) and Trigg Hall Husband-1897. Susan, Augustus and Trigg Hall Husband are buried in Jones Co., MS at the Eastabutchie Cemetery, not far from Hattiesburg, MS. Susan and Augustus died in 1902 of TB contacted from one of their boarders. My father was only 7 years old.
Thanks for any help on my Hall line, since I never got to know any of my Hall family.
